Over the last year some of the Network’s clients have served as a focus group for various research projects on FASD. Now, Dr. Mansfield Mela and his team of researchers would like to take the time to present the findings of some of their most recent research projects.
On Wednesday, October 18th they will be joining us in lieu of our usual Caregiver Support Meeting. The presentations will take place at the Network office (510 Cynthia St) from 6:30 pm to 8:00 pm. It will be a free evening open to anyone who would like to attend and learn some of the latest findings on FASD.
The presentations will cover research on recognition cues to improve identification of FASD in clinical settings, attendees will learn how to describe the recognition cues of FASD that were generated from clinical perspectives. They will also present on the barriers for individuals living with FASD to access Mental Health/Addiction services. Participants will be able to advocate for, or implement, progressions for FASD-informed mental health and addictions support.
